Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What kind of
crystals do you use?
A. We use only
Swarovski crystals ranging in size from the largest being SS 12 to the
smallest being SS 5. Swarovski crystals are known for being the finest
lead crystals in the world. At The Bling-String we import our
Swarovski crystals directly from the manufacturer and are one of the
largest importers in all of California.
Q. How do I wash clothes that have been
“Blinged”.
A. Make sure you wash clothes that have
been Blinged in cold water and dry them on low heat. Remember to always
turn the garments inside out as the crystal can break and scratch if
they bang against the inside of a washer or dryer. We provide an extra
pack of crystals in the event that one falls off. To reapply a lost
crystal on clothes simply use the tip of a hot iron.
Q. Can a crystallized automotive part
go through a car wash?
A. Yes! Do
in large part to our proprietary adhesion process, car parts that have
been crystallized by The Bling-String standup nicely to even the
harshest of automated car washes.
Q. Can a crystal
come off or crack once its attached to a phone or other item?
A. The answer to
both these questions is yes. Although it is not common, a crystal
may come lose or crack if it is impacted hard enough. In either event a
lost or cracked crystal is easily replaced using the spares that we
provide with each item we "Bling".
Q. Can you
“Bling” anything?
A. The answer to
this is pretty much yes… There are things that we don’t recommend
“Blinging” and some things that we won’t “Bling” including objects that
are worn or are intended for children under the age of seven.
Q. What is
the strangest thing you have "Blinged"?
A. To date the
three strangest items we have blinged are:
1)
A pair of officers handcuffs (Not what you think, they were a retirement
gift for a female parole officer).
2) A
Chapstick (Were still trying to figure out if you can refill it
once its empty)
3) The tops of a
pair of chopsticks.. (Major sushi lover)

Q. Can I buy the
Swarovski crystals from you and bling the item myself?
A.
Yes! You will find a section on the order
entry page where you can select the number of crystals you want as well
as the colors. In addition, we can also provide you with the
proper glue and instructions.
